industry has seen Aviattic look more and more like a viable career option for me. Having seen many small modelling companies grow over the years (and a few fail) and talking to vendors at model shows I made the decision to create some commercially viable products and test the water.

Meeting the shy and humble

Harry Green at Scale ModelWorld eight years ago led to the creation of our lozenge decal range, taking all that passion and shared knowledge of a subject (Harry had been fascinated by lozenge fabric since the 60’s but never studied a piece close up - to his amazement I had a piece in the boot of my car!) to produce something we are very proud of - our ground breaking ‘linen’ decal range. Correcting a few long held myths and challenging existing thought on the subject of these dyed camouflage colours now spreads beyond just the modelling community and, via the Internet, our findings are hopefully filtering down to all aspects of WW1 aviation study from restorers and museums to replica builders, radio control

scale modellers etc. That success has led me to

acquire the services, within a year, of 18 (so far) skilled master modellers, casters, CAD and digital artists, and graphic designers from all over the world. Either volunteering their services or approached (or hunted down) by me I am delighted now to be part of an excited, highly motivated team all working towards a common goal. Each given projects to work on for Aviattic from my list of ‘dream’ projects. Some of my ‘Aviators’ team up via email.

A few have been hinted at

recently, including our 1/32 resin Ansaldo Balilla A1 mastered by Ron Kootje. Ron’s beautiful master kit parts will be complimented by specially commissioned Vickers guns from Gaspatch, Pheon decals, and our own linen and woodgrain tailored offerings amongst other things - much more is to come.

A move to bigger Aviattic

premises is now necessary and 2015 should see me - with my loyal customers support - make the break and concentrate on Aviattic full time. Planned releases across all media and

scales including a whole new opportunity to move into different markets... New website, new products, new life!

Designated paint spraying

room, office, packing and distribution room and resin casting facilities all now needed as Aviattic becomes a serious concern.

A golden age of WW1

modelling we all deserve and I am so glad to be a part of. No longer is amateurishness and inaccuracy tolerated as the customer base grows and expectations are heightened.
