SPECIAL HOBBY NEWS I

taleri have announced a third 1:48th scale Westland Wessex variant to be released into their range. After previously releasing the HAS.3 (2732) and HU.5 (2720) variants to much

As with the previous releases, this one will also feature additional details offered by a photo etched fret and metal wire mesh. pecial Hobby can come up with some interesting choices with their kits, and this month we have news of one that definitely fits that bill. We all know of the Gloster Meteor

T Mk 7 which was a widespread trainer, but you may not have heard of the Meteor T Mk 7.5 which Special Hobby have chosen for one of their latest kits in 1:72nd scale, ref. SH72317. A handful of T Mk 7 airframes were modified and received the larger and squared off tail of the Mk 8 fighter variant, thereby ending up with this peculiar designation. These aircraft were mostly used in the UK for various flight testing and public shows but also served with the Belgian and Israeli air forces as trainers, for which decal options are included. Resin parts also accompany the kit for a set of wingtip fuel tanks that were carried by the Gloster company’s own demonstration aircraft, as well as new clear parts for a recce nose on the Royal Aircraft Establishment’s test aircraft.

The name was taken from that of a mythical Burmese God.
