Going Out - Page 56 Valley Voices Choir Christmas concert plan
Rehearsals are underway for the Christmas concerts planned this year by Valley Voices, the international mixed choir based in Parcent. They are planning to sing again this year at the Christmas Fair at the Marriott Hotel in aid of Emaús on the 29th November where they successfully performed last year. They will also be performing in the Jalon Church on 18th December, a venue which they are delighted to have secured. Joining them on this occasion will be the Costa Barber Singers, well known throughout the Jalon Valley, together with Cadenza, a cellist and pianist duo who proved very popular at Valley Voices’ concerts during the summer. Paul Freeman, who sings with Costa Barber Singers, has kindly consented to be our compere for the evening. The concert in the church will commence at 9pm on the 18th December and any monies raised will be donated to Caritas. Mulled wine and mince pies will also be served after the performance. Valley Voices continue to go from strength to strength with a real determination to improve, although still maintaining the informal and fun atmosphere of their rehearsals. Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir Christmas Programme The Choir is currently in rehearsal for our busy Christmas programme which has just been finalised. The
season starts with a private concert for the U3A on the 26th November, followed by our first public concert which is a for a charity ‘Grant a Wish’ at The Casa de Cultura, El Verger on Tuesday 2nd December. On Saturday 6th December we join Moraira/ Teulada Lions for their annual Community carols event in Moraira church square at 6pm. The season finishes with two showpiece Community Carol Concerts, the first on Saturday 13th December at the Parroquia Nuestra Senora de la Nieves in Calpe Old Town starting at 9pm. The second is our traditional and popular visit to Benitachell Church on Wednesday 17th December starting at 7pm. At all concerts, the choir will be performing some old Christmas favourites, plus some new pieces that have not been performed in public before. Torrevieja Outlook Charity Calendar 2015
This is the ninth charity calendar produced by Andy Ormiston which will be sold in various charity outlets for their own benefit. It is a colourful poster sized edition full of information about fiestas and events, not only in Torrevieja, but in other towns of the Valencia and Murcia regions. Each month the main photo is about a fiesta or place, with space for notes and bank holidays in Spain, United Kingdom and Ireland marked, along with full moon and some international events listed. It's not just a twelve month calendar but extra pages of photos and information such as one page that is dedicated to some of the many local monuments and other pages noting regular cultural events. Important emergency numbers are included as well as a number of useful websites for those looking for information of weather, places to visit, hospitals, hotels, tourist events etc. The object is again to raise money for local charities, promote tourism, inform the public of when fiestas, carnivals and happenings occur and also to increase awareness of local fundraising groups and the hundreds of local volunteers, and those individuals and groups who provide help, support and entertainment for the community. This calendar is once again dedicated to those volunteers.
