All these factors contribute to a net system that requires less net weights (7-10kg/m sinker) to keep them in place, which means there is less load on the mooring systems and more reserve buoyancy for the cages. There are currently twenty-six EcoNets successfully operating in Shetland and many more places worldwide, reducing predation losses and improving the farming conditions.
