I was extremely fortunate to have passionate hospitality mentors early on in my career. They allowed me to explore all aspects of the hotel business, and their advice and examples of leadership were a critical part of my growth.

Lori Rabon General Manager Nassau Inn, Princeton, NJ www.nassauinn.com

Today, in my position as general manager with Nassau Inn, I have the pleasure of working with a supportive ownership group and an outstanding team of dedicated individuals who continue to help me grow as both an individual and as a leader.

The Nassau Inn is a historic property located in downtown Princeton, New Jersey with 188 guest rooms and 13 meeting spaces, including the Prince William Ballroom. Our staff will assist our guests with any and all of their needs, from the check-in process to helping with luggage, or simply by making dinner reservations.

We can customize any menu based on dietary restrictions in the restaurant or from our banquets department. Also, our experienced sales team can assist in the plan- ning of an off-site conference or meeting, and can suggest local activities.

We maintain strong relationships with our clients as well as with other hospitality professionals in our region. One of the ways we do this is through involvement with the local chamber and CVB, and also with various industry associations and organ- izations.

Presently, I am associated with the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Princeton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau, Princeton Merchants Association, and Meeting Professionals International. Through my association with these groups, I have been able to meet many people across a wide range of busi- nesses. The relationships I have formed with them have benefited me both profes- sionally and personally.

Princeton is a great community to be a part of, and it continues to grow as a des- tination. This area has a multitude of assets to offer all visitors, plus top quality accommodations. Princeton’s hospitality community is focused on becoming the destination of choice for meetings, arts and culture, entertainment and sporting events.

Our community is continuously evolving. Princeton benefits from the collaborative efforts we all enjoy through our ties with the State of New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, the Princeton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the efforts of the finest educational institutions in the country - all of whom support their surrounding communities.

Looking to the future of hospitality both here in Princeton and throughout the indus- try, my hope is that hoteliers will continue to be flexible and adaptive to the chang- ing needs of both guests and team members, while at the same time remaining committed to providing quality accommodations and outstanding guest services.
