Ross is a recognized force in the meet- ing and event industry and multiple clients sing her praises. Early on, JR Global Events developed strategies and management processes to enable her team of highly experienced planners to proffer superlative client support and top-notch quality. Services begin with pre-planning and continue through post- event follow-up, analysis and measure- ment for clients,whether they are an inti- mate group of 20 or in excess of 10,000 attendees.
“Although we plan and execute some very large events, as a company,we are small and prefer to stay small,” points out Ross. “We build strategic partner- ships with clients to hold meetings and events that far exceed their expectations while saving them money. Any commissions or perks that come our way are immediately sent to the client. We were recently granted a software license for web development, which willmonetarily benefit themevenmore.”
When citing an example of the kind of work her company can do, Ross lit up with a broad smile and offered Virtua Voorhees Hospital's VIP and grand opening events. With only a seven-week window, what began as an assignment to manage scene development evolved into an extravaganza with 250 JR Global Events personnel and ancillary staff sta- tioned on hospital grounds. “Virtua Voorhees’ internalmarketing teamneed- ed to direct their full attention to com- munications, so we were charged with the two events. We brought in our best vendors to work with us from soup-to- nuts. I applaud them for our success.”
What that success entailed is multi- faceted.A 47,000-square foot temporary open structure was constructed with strict adherence to union rules. The building was designed to allow tour guides to highlight each area within the hospital. More than a mile of red car- peting was laid, valet parking for 800 cars was provided, and Philadelphia Trolley Works shuttled guests to and from the event. “There were so many moving pieces involved,” recalls Ross, “such as numerous security briefings,
