minute motivational speech with dinner. It was really magical and the guests loved it.”

Also during this one-of-a-kind retreat, a bat was given to each attendee with the corpo- ration's logo and each attendees' name and a saying underneath that was specific to that attendee as a welcome gift. “It was very creative and unique, and that was part of how they motivated them,”notes Faller.

With many years of putting on unique events such as these, Faller notes that Otesaga has a lot of great ideas formeeting planners who are looking to host some- thing one-of-a-kind at their location, but they also are open to new ideas,as well.

“Typically, if a corporate group or associa- tion is coming, they will have an ornate buffet including an omelet station, pancake station andmore, and then a 40 itembuffet for lunch. Dinner is a very formal experi- ence where they are given a menu from which to order," he notes. "Planners don’t have to make any menu selections if they don’t want to, because we leave all the choices to the customer.”

“The next night we might do a cookout at the Farmer’s Museum, which is a celebra- tion of agriculture of last century housed in a beautiful barn, or do something right in the Baseball Hall of Fame and bring in Hall of Fame president Jeff Idelson to speak for a nominal fee,”adds Faller.

Add to that experience a baseball film in the theater with popcorn and peanuts, and guests are wowed by the experience. For planners, that atmosphere is hard to beat. “It’s really neat,” notes Faller. “This is the only place in the world where you can have this unique experience.”

Destination resorts provide groups with plenty of opportunities to create unique, one-of-a-kind experiences for their atten- dees that have a way of bringing the group together andmakingmemories that last for years to come.

A variety of great escapes can be found throughout the region where planners have the opportunity to help attendees to recharge and refresh at their next meeting.
