Opening in September of 2014, PPL Center in downtown Allentown will be home to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, an AHL (American Hockey League) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers. This new arena also will house a Chickie’s and Pete’s restaurant, and will have the capacity to accommo- date large concerts and events. In fact, musical perform- ers The Eagles and Cher will be the first two concerts held at the arena in the fall of 2014.


In addition, the Renaissance Allentown hotel will be open- ing in December 2014. This new hotel will provide world- class accommodations for the area’s visitors, offering on site dining, fitness facilities, plus 10 meeting rooms with a main ballroom that will be able to hold events of more than 400 attendees.
