The Franklin Institute Just Got Bigger! June 17, 2014 Philadelphia, PA -The celebration for the Grand Opening of the Nicholas andAthena Karabots Pavilion at the Franklin Institute attracted well over 600 guests from all over the region. The night started off with an introduction of the Museum’s history, and spotlighted the newest “Your Brain” exhibition, as well as the new Laureates Conference Center, which features state-of-the-art technology and video conferencing capabilities, as well as a beautiful terrace and rain garden just outside the meeting space. Entertainment and foods were served in the Benjamin Franklin National Memorial, while a poignant video took guests on a journey from the creation of the Institute leading them to the open- ing of the doors to a new beginning. Guests enjoyed explor- ing the “Your Brain” exhibition, as well as the animated “Circus! Science Under the Big Top” exhibit, which features acrobatic tightrope and bungee jumping, as well as the fasci- nating “101 Inventions that Changed theWorld” exhibit.
