The new app also showcases trans- portation routes, including the fast, free and green Charm City Circulator hybrid buses. Planners can take these routes into consideration dur- ing the planning process, with an on the ground “eye” to the best ways to move attendees around the city. InSite plots the routes and even dis- plays vehicle locations.


Another app that has been inspired by the power of technology and ways to transform meetings for the people attending has been recently introduced by Marriott Hotels, the signature brand of Marriott International, Inc. Known as Red Coat Direct, it is a first-of-its-kind app that allows meeting organizers to adjust and edit their meeting requests and preferences with a touch of a button and without ever leaving the meeting room.


Red Coat Direct is the first branded hotel app to grant any meeting wish (within reason) from room tempera- ture adjustments to coffee refills or having lunch served earlier with an additional vegetarian dish. This new program began rolling out at 350 Marriott Hotel properties in the U.S. beginning in May of 2013, and the app is expected to expand to the brand’s entire global portfolio of 500 hotels by the end of 2014. The Baltimore Marriott Waterfront is one of the properties leading the charge in the use of this new technology.


The app can be personalized to each organizer’s specific meeting. Requests can be made up to three days before the meeting and then throughout.


Once the request is


made, it is routed to the event man- ager and the department that can fulfill the request. The app is avail- able for all Internet-enabled devices including: iPhone, iPad, Android phones, Kindle Fire and laptops, and it will be available in 19 lan- guages by 2014’s global rollout.

The Food Market focuses on approachable and serious comfort food in a smartly designed industrial-modern space. Award-winning Chef Chad Gauss’ value-driven menu offers guests a complete dining experience. Located in Hampden, the Food Market serves brunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Dinner is served nightly until 1am, and valet park- ing is available at no cost.
