For one-of-a-kind venues, this destination offers the Hershey Gardens, The Hershey Story, The Museum on Chocolate Avenue, Hershey Country Club, Hersheypark, and Hershey’s Chocolate World.

Just minutes from downtown Princeton, New Jersey is another top-notch confer- ence venue - Chauncey Hotel and Conference Center, which is a member of IACC (International Association of Con- ference Centers).

“We offer an intimate, focused meeting environment, exceptional food quality and a welcoming staff to service our guests,” said Susan Croggon, director of sales and marketing for Chauncey. “When guests arrive via the winding, tree-lined roads that lead up to Chauncey, it sets the tone that guests are in for a distinctive meeting experience.”

Located midway between Philadelphia and New York City, Chauncey houses 100 guest rooms and 10,500-square feet of meeting space. Everything necessary to make an event successful and memo- rable is right at one’s fingertips. Inclusive meeting packages offer ease of budgeting and planning. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the center, and is offered complimentary in guest rooms and meeting rooms. The newly renovated Mallard Room features built-in compo- nents for meetings requiring audio or video recording.

Chauncey’s newly renovated guest rooms have been designed with the business traveler in mind. Guests will find rooms with a patio or balcony, flat screen HD TV, iHome docking station and more. The venue also offers a gift shop, a 24-hour fit- ness center, plus complimentary parking and shuttle service to and from down- town Princeton. Inviting nature trails beckon for an early morning stroll or a way to wind down after a busy day of meetings.

Chauncey’s grounds also are home to The Laurie House, which overlooks a lake and is surrounded by 370 acres of woodlands. A former hunt club, it traces its history back to 1769. Today, The Laurie House is updated with contemporary amenities and charming style, offering the gracious

feel of a gentleman’s farmhouse and bed- and-breakfast style accommodations. With seven beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, each of its rooms affords tranquil views of the lake or grounds. The Laurie House library, living room and patio are ideal for small- to mid- sized gatherings. An IACC-approved meet- ing room accommodates up to 30 guests.

At Harbourtowne Golf Resort and

Conference Center in St. Michaels, MD, the resort’s on site certified meeting plan- ners help keep things simple and flexible.

“Our management team is hands-on and there to assist our service teams at any time needed,” said Cheryl Alfes, director of sales and marketing for Harbourtowne. “Last-minute changes come with the terri- tory, and we try to assist our clients with those changes as required.”

Meeting rooms and facilities accommo- date groups from 10 to 160 people. The property offers 8,000-square feet of meet- ing space. Complete meeting packages (CMP) include everything needed for a successful meeting, such as waterfront guest rooms and meeting spaces, a dedi- cated meeting planner to assist in all aspects of the function, and complimen- tary wireless Internet. The CMP also fea- tures breakfast and lunch, continuous break service,

standard audio-video

equipment and in-house technical staff, meeting room supplies, complimentary parking and gratuities.

Groups can take advantage of added amenities, too, like the use of the on site Pete Dye 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts and the swimming pool. Sailing and fishing charters also are available for an additional fee.

Team building is appealing here, too. And because of Harbourtowne’s location on the water, activities can be arranged that can’t take place in an urban setting. Attendees have the opportunity to partic- ipate in cardboard boat building, sailing schools, kayaking trips, paddle boarding, soap box derby building and more. Such activities infuse enthusiasm into a retreat.
