Spurs Show Jumping takes place once a month during the winter Nov. 25th

, Dec. 30th 2012, Jan. 27th 2013, Feb. 24th

What a great start to the Spurs Show Jumping winter season “A very welcome sight it was to see the lorry park filling up with eager competitors”. Said one of the Spurs show organizers Mike Johns.

Every new season brings regular friends and new friends eager to lay claim to a red rosette and a shiny trophy to take pride of place in their new home. With this in mind the challenge was set with a demanding course set by the designer to test their balance and courage, with many accepting the challenge only to roll a pole and claim 4 faults. Only the accurate and careful laid claim to the top placing’s.

The class of rider is really coming to the fore with no accidents or dismounts and placing’s going down to seconds apart in the jump offs, there was the odd false start which goes to show the eagerness of the competitors vying for the top spots.

Most of the class winners were different, except for school teacher Tina Burden who won the 2ft 3in senors with her spritely little roan pony Ronan finishing in secone on Storm who also won the 2ft 6in seniors.

Sally Sanders has been attending Spurs Showjumping since they began and won the first class of the day the 1ft 8in 2ft open riding Merlen. Bethany Hull won the 2ft 3in juniors and fought off tough competition to finish fourth in the 2ft 6in won by Harvey Ellery on Bonica, who also finished in second place in the 2ft 9in – 3ft open that was won by Katherine Baker and Spirit.

“Many thanks must go to our generous and long term sponsor, St.Austell Trophies who supplied all the trophies for all of the classes. We would also like to thank everyone who came and made our first show of the winter season such an awesome day” added Mike

and Mar. 31st 2013 schedules are available from various feed stores, the Spurs Show Jumping facebook page and via email at spursshowjumping@tiscali.co.uk
