three different events, jumping double clears. The challenge is a mix of eight show jump fences, and six cross country ones, with a final ‘joker’ fence, the 1.10m Trizone show jump angled to trick the unwary. Rebecca Slough explains after knocking it with her Whitewood Starburst; “it’s got a dip in front of it, which just puts them off”.

The top ten completers go through into the jump off, where all fences remain the same except the Trizone joker which is raised.

How some other southern riders fared:

Miranda Harvey with Everything Changes finished with four penalties, and didn’t make the jump off. With her 8 year old Ruscai Little Arkansas, Isabel McKeeman went clear and finished in 10th

position. Sophie Moultrie

with Zachary III had a refusal and a fence down, receiving 26 jumping penalties.

Clare Taubenheim with Lord Corrado was eliminated after

a show jump fall; although initially winded, she was soon up and inquiring after her horse.
