Spa Crest puts special emphasis on the quality of its tub jets
Catalina Spas will rewind your warranty back to year one if you have your hot tub serviced every year

In the past three years things have quietened down and the competitive element of ‘out bidding’ with warranties looks to be over and there’s not much to choose between the major brands and no significant competitive advantage to be gained these days.
A strong package of warranties has been part of the package offered by Catalina Spas for the past ten years.
“There’s not a lot going to go wrong with these spas,” says Catalina’s Stephen Crabb. One innovative approach on making life easier for hot tub owners is Catalina’s service deal which offers customers who have their hot tub serviced every year the chance to prolong their warranty. Basically you service your spa every year and the warranty starts again at day one of the warranty.
“A regularly serviced spa is going to last a lot longer in prime condition. That’s a given but we also encourage customers to go further. If you are having an annual service then there’s also the chance to have the cabinet restained so every year it looks brand new.”
Catalina Spas claimed a first when they added an automatic dosing system on to their range of hot tubs.
The new system is available on a number of models and will be able to be retro fitted on to existing hot tubs.
The development is one of a number of extras and tweaks to the Catalina range based on feedback from customers which responds to the demands to improve the owners’ experience. “We are in a position to add subtle changes to the products to fit the feedback we get from customers. For example our 18ft swim spa was the only one to have a fountain but we’ve now been able to add that facility to the 14ft and 16ft models.”
All Catalina spa and swim spa models have the new Catalina Clear automatic sanitising system. Traditional methods of sanitising like bromine tablets that have binders or stabilised chlorine that
contain cyanuric acid all by-products that build up in the water. With the Catalina Clear system they only use 98% pure sodium bromide, a natural salt, which does not cause build up in spa water. The dissolved sodium bromide circulates through the spa and the system electronically converts sodium bromide into bromine.
Warranties are a significant part of the Spa Crest Europe offer to its customers as it warrants its fibreglass spa shell structure against water loss due to defects in materials and workmanship for ten years with a five year warranty for the interior surface of the spa against blisters and cracks. Spa Crest puts special emphasis on the quality of its tub jets from cluster jets, to directionals, foot specific jets, with each jet in a design to deliver the utmost in therapeutic massage. Optional extras on the Spa Crest Europe range include: perimeter LED Lighting and neck jets or pillow on lounge seat. There is no by-pass filtration on all Spa Crest’s Series II Models, 100% of the water drawn in by the circulation pump is filtered, ozonated and heated before returning to the spa. This system keeps a spa crystal clear and ready for use any time.
Vicky Stirland from Artesian Spas said all round warranties had always been a feature of the popular Las Vegas built hot tubs.
“I do think owning a hot tub these days is very stress free as we are all working hard to help customers. We’ve always believed in comprehensive warranties with special emphasis on parts and labour warranties. Obviously the more premium the product, the better the warranty will be.”
She felt there was still an ongoing interest in technology.
“There’s more available now so it’s bound to be of great interest. We do get customers who are very interested in the ‘bling effect’ with lights and the whole works. We had a couple in yesterday who were really taken with our new apps system so I think there’s always going to be interest in the gadget factor.”
It’s more the weather which has been an issue recently for Vicky.
“Everything was fine in terms of sales right up until May then the bad weather has made an impact, I don’t think it’s the economy this time – just the bad weather we’ve been having.” Artesian continues to raise the profile of its Garden Spas range of one and two seater space efficient hot tubs.
