It is one of 40 out of 67 already produced, with ten more of the remaining 27 that are nearing completion.

The two page factsheet covers important items to consider when using ceiling membranes and draws upon the experiences of companies that offer these products to the trade in an unbiased format. Extracts from the factsheet are included below, to give a flavour of the practical advice that has been produced.

void should be protected just in case the membrane is lifted. Although surface condensation will not affect the membrane ceiling the correct equipment will negate this happening, it is always a good idea to have taped edge insulation boards suitable for wet areas within the void area to reduce the void depth and therefore achieve savings on running cost”. SPATA would like to thank the experts that helped to develop the fact sheet and these include Graham Savage at Stretch Ceilings for writing the original draft and to Ian Taylor at Soltech Systems for his contributions to the wording. Further comments were received from SPATA’s Technical Committee especially Jim Gordon and Peter Lang to finalise the content. Member factsheets are just one of the many benefits available to companies when they join SPATA. With a number of factsheets aimed at both members and others aimed at consumers, you will have access to a wealth of information to support your business. If a SPATA member is in any doubt about the answer to a particular question, they have access to free advice from the SPATA Technical Committee, who are here to help you.
