she has represented clients who own a large min- ing project in Brazil.
In addition to the newsletter and speaker events, we are having a study abroad panel. The panel con- sists of a Professor who will be teaching abroad dur- ing the summer, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and a student who has previously studied abroad. The panel is set up to give students who are interested in studying abroad guidance as to how to go about the process and what to expect.
Similarly, we are planning on hosting a Pathways to Careers in International law event. This event is organized with the help of the ABA’s section of In- ternational law. The event will consist of a panel of speakers that will introduce students to new pro- fessional opportunities and career resources, as well as providing a great networking opportunity for students interested in a career in international law.

LASU ILSA CHAPTER
Lagos State Univ., Faculty of Law Lagos State, Nigeria Alli Taiwo Akinsola, Chief Officer
Lagos State University, Nigeria, recently completed its chapter registration with ILSA, after a year of consultation. Despite being new to the organiza- tion, the Chapter has set the ball rolling by facilitat- ing the registration of the University to participate in the Jessup Moot Court Competition. It is also an honor to the University that the National adminis- trator for the Nigeria National round, Rtn Taiwo Alli is appointed from the chapter. The chapter is also the official host 2012 National rounds of the Jessup Competition.
In order to mobilize members for the chapter, a committee has been set up to strategically organize a resounding inauguration ceremony for the chap- ter, and to organize a new student orientation day. We are very pleased to present for the first time a team from Lagos State University for the 2012 Jessup Moot Court Competition’s national rounds and are also proud to be the first University to have participated in the Nigeria national round from the southwest region of Nigeria
The Law Students Society of the Law Faculty rec- ognizes and realizes that the registration of a Chap- ter for the University has been an honorable and valuable addition to the Lagos State University. The Jessup competition is an area of attraction, which the school has taken seriously. The chapter is ready to begin quarterly workshops in international law and international organizations law. In addition, the chapter is also proposing a world peace seminar in collaboration with World Peace Society of Nigeria.
The moot court competition on international law will become an annual activity of the chapter, in which students shall learn how to moot on international matters. Social activities, such as cocktail parties, picnics, family of ILSA night, Awards’ ceremony and get together parties are not left out of our plans to promote ILSA this year. There has been encourag- ing and excellent attendance at our initial interest meetings, which has demonstrated that there is indeed a great deal of interest and enthusiasm for ILSA. We hope to build on this enthusiasm as we continue to grow in strength and number this year as we are strongly committed to this challenge.
In a bid to expose and for the purpose of internation- al understanding, we are also pleased to announce an exchange visit with two or more law schools abroad, through which partnership could be estab- lished in some programs of international interest. All hands are on deck to ensure that ILSA continues to enjoy the deserved recognition by both the Law students and the Faculty’s management.
