chemical usage saving time and money. There’s certainly a lot that’s new about the market in early 2012.

CERTIKIN STARTS 2012 WITH TRACKLESS RANGE OF ENCLOSURES

Certikin’s Endless Summer telescopic enclosures have new designs to come on-stream. 2012 sees the launch of a trackless model that takes the custom-built telescopic enclosures to a new level of versatility.

The trackless system – dependent on a site

survey – glides the building back to its lockdown position. The enclosure consists of a fixed end bay, permanently attached to the ground, plus a series of moveable bays that slide underneath each other as the enclosure is opened. The pool enclosure is made up of a series of modular components which can be integrated to ensure the enclosure can accommodate almost any shaped pool, pool surround materials and adjoining buildings. The flexibility of the design and its adaptability will also respond to any plans. Certikin’s custom designs include telescopic, fixed, lean-to, low level and centre opening models. Folding concertina doors allow full width access into the enclosure in seconds. The new secure doors add an extra element of safety and the unique runner design ensures easy opening and a lockable access door.

There is an option of additional lockable hinged or sliding access doors that can be locked into a ventilation position.

The ground locking system ensures the building cannot be moved without a key, adding extra security to the enclosure. The large hand wheels allow the fixings to be easily removed, this makes opening the enclosure quick and simple on warmer days. These high quality, industrial standard wheels are manufactured in polyurethane with sealed ball races giving extra smooth movement, easing out the bumps from the paving and making the building roll with a

dramatically reduced effort.

The roof sections of each bay are glazed with a high tech polycarbonate with a double wall cell structure to aid temperature stability. The roof section has been increased to a 10mm thick twin wall polycarbonate, surpassing the industry standard of 6mm. This polycarbonate roof sheet has a ‘U’ value of 3.1w/m2K. Resisting impact damage it’s the high strength option, having all the good looks of multi-wall roofing. Mould and algae are dramatically reduced by using a ‘no-drop’ coating which limits the formation of condensation droplets. The twin wall material allows excellent light transmission levels (clear=80%) and with a minimal weight of 1.7Kg sq/m, so ensuring the building does not become too heavy. The enclosures are made from extruded aluminium sections. The side walls are glazed with 6mm high quality glass clear acrylic. As well as this light-weight, easy to maintain and durable material, the Endless Summer structure is strong enough to allow an upgrade to a toughened glass side wall option. The glazing system is fully gasketed to ensure a watertight and rattle free environment. Double brushed base rails ensure the maximum resistance to debris at floor level, keeping dust and debris to a minimum inside the building. This, in turn, reduces pool cleaning and chemical usage.

AQUAFLEX ANNOUNCE NEW 2012 ABRISUD DESIGN

Available from March 2012, Aquaflex announce they will be launching a further innovation into their popular range. Already one of the top selling pool enclosures throughout Europe, the Abrisud pool cover is without doubt one of the most versatile and attractive on the market. New features of this revolutionary design include a contemporary new colour and the versatility of the building has been further increased with an ingenious double horizontal wheel fixing which feeds the moving section into the correct position to make opening and closing

MAKING THE BEST IMPRESSION ON A NEW SWIMMING POOL

When Welsh pool and spa retailer, Best Impressions were called in to build a new pool it only took a few days for the owner to realise if he wanted to make the fullest use of the pool then he needed to add an enclosure.

It is a fairly typical reaction from a new pool owner.

Moving into their luxurious new home, the Agland family of Llanellen were keen to have a pool built in the back garden and Monmouthshire pool builder, Best Impressions designed and constructed it on a sloping site using a brief that allowed for the addition of an enclosure at a later stage should the family decide to go ahead.

An extended season Calorex PPT16 heat pump was chosen for its reliability and environmentally sustainable credentials.

The surround was paved using natural sandstone paving to give a clean, fresh non-slip finish. The project took less than four weeks to complete.

Within days of completion the customer was keen to explore the installation of the enclosure and realised its huge benefits. An Endless Summer enclosure, 8m x 12.3m, pool building was duly erected.

Michelle Cooper of Best Impressions

says: “The Endless Summer enclosure is robust and durable, but also very aesthetically pleasing which is important when you work in an area of outstanding natural beauty such as Monmouthshire and the Brecon Beacons.”
