CATALINA SPAS INTRODUCES OWN SPA CHEMICAL RANGE


There’s two developments for the New Year from Catalina spas alongside its new 2012 models. The business has just launched Catalina chemicals own new range of spa chemicals in industry unique packaging. The range offers products including pipe and cover cleaners which come with point of sale display stand giving dealers a quality chemical range.


All Catalina spas models are available with the Catalina Spa-Kle auto sanitising system. This system produces bromine that is retained as a residual without the need to add harmful chemicals. Bromine is the ideal sanitiser for spas and now there is a way of adding it automatically without the need of tablets, granules or an unsightly floating dispenser.

ELITE SPAS STEPS UP ITS COUNTY SHOW SALES EFFORT IN 2012


Customer service is still the key in tough trading conditions – that was the message from Somerset based Elite Spas at their second annual conference.


Elite Spas who distribute the Sunbelt spa range from Texas told their dealers that 2011 had been a successful year for the business. Kevin Sanger, Elite Spas Director said: “You have done a great job this year in a tough climate. But working together we’ve seen that the right product with the right levels of service and delivery will still sell hot tubs.” The two day conference, held at the Lanes Hotel in West Coker, Somerset, included a dealer award for the ‘most effort ‘during the year. The winner was Elite Spas, Isle of Wight Ltd with Cheshire Spas the runner up.


Said Debbie Turner from Elite Spas, Isle of Wight: “There’s no real secret to it. We keep customers happy, give them what they want and provide backup service. We are very active at local shows – no matter how small.”


Elite Spas are very active in the county shows market and plan more for 2012.


“Once the shows season starts we will be out there working really hard to sell spas. It’s a great way of getting the product out to the customer.” Elite has invested in a new exhibition trailer for the 2012 county shows season.


Kevin told the conference there would be no price increases for the Elite spas for 2012.

Bob Markiton from Sunbelt Spas included a presentation on antimicrobial technologies using Microban protection on Sunbelt Spas a major new selling point for the tubs. He told the conference that when a microorganism comes in contact with an acrylic surface, Microban protection penetrates the cell wall of the microorganism making it unable to function, grow and reproduce. Acrylic is a non-porous surface, requiring less maintenance than many other available surfaces. However, even unprotected acrylic surfaces can be a breeding ground for microorganisms that can double in number every 20 minutes on an unprotected surface. Microban technology is designed to provide Lucite acrylic surfaces with an added level of cleanliness on the surface of the acrylic. Microban antimicrobial protection inhibits the growth of microorganisms, such as bacteria


that can cause stains and odours on the acrylic surface. “The continuous antimicrobial protection of Microban technology makes surfaces easier to clean and keeps them cleaner between cleanings. And because Microban technology is built in during the manufacturing process, it won’t wash off or wear away giving these surfaces continuous protection that lasts the lifetime of the acrylic. The conference includes presentations from Mark Ramsden from CPC Chemicals and from hot tub consultant Dorian Davies.
