Watkins Manufacturing, whose well known hot tub brands include Caldera Spas and HotSpring Spas, has acquired American Hydrotherapy Systems, the makers of Freeflow Spas and a leader in the rotationally moulded spas. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.


HYDROPOOL TAKES TO THE LONDON BOAT SHOW IN STYLE


Hydropool Hot Tubs maintained their high profile consumer image by successfully exhibiting at the 10 day Tullett Prebon London Boat from 6 to 15 January.


The prestigious 2012 boat show, which was opened by heiress, model and broadcaster, Tamara Ecclestone, is the latest in a high profile number of consumer events including Grand Designs and The Ideal Home Show where Hydropool has chosen to promote its hot tubs range to consumers.


Hydropool launched two new models in its Self Cleaning Lines last year ready for the new season. The new look 14ft and 17ft swim spas are designed with the garden in mind. The company has been successful in promoting self cleaning hot tubs that clean all of the water in the tub every 15 minutes and have made the point that they see being able to tailor the hot tub very specifically to a customer needs as a key selling point.


“We are fortunate to have a range of unique features on our tubs which make a difference when it comes to the customer making the buying decision. The self cleaning feature on the Hydropool tubs has been massive for us and has very often made the difference in a sale,” say the company.


Hydropool are still the only manufacturer to produce a self cleaning hot tub. A combination of dual pressurised filtration, surface skimmers, built in floor filters and automatic sanitation feeders ensure an easy to maintain hot tub.

14 MODELS AVAILABLE AS CLEARWATER SPAS SEEKS NEW DEALERS


High stock levels, value for money prices and quality tubs form the background for Clearwater Spas as the business seeks to develop its dealer base in the UK.


Clearwater have been manufacturing spas in Seattle, Washington for 35 years and are known for quality, product innovation and design and for 2012 offer 14 models starting from £4,000 through to £12,000. The business now wants to expand its dealer network without saturating the country. They want to offer dealers larger areas for them to sell in, innovative products and design and dealer support including advice and help with their marketing strategy and advertising design. Clearwater‘s best seller is a £9,000 hot tub featuring a high spec inclusive of a lounger and two captains’ chairs – unique format in a 7metre spa.

The UK distribution centre and dealer training unit is based in Poole in Dorset which offers a wet test room through Prestige Landscape. Customers can also see the spas inside a gazebo and cabin to give them an idea of how the spa will look in their gardens.


Clearwater Spas Europe produced a new Special Edition spa in the summer in response to dealers’ requests. “We believe there is a keen price point in the market that has a certain specification and with our build quality and differences over the competition this model has been well received,” said a spokesman.
