Hot Tubs at Home in Towcester, distributors of Dimension One, Softub and Coast Spas spas, filled a hot tub with Christmas gifts from customers. There were enough books, toys, games, teddies and clothing to fill a hot tub. Jennifer Angood, co- owner, was inspired to launch the appeal by her friend for the Great Ormond Street Hospital.
INNOVATIVE APP FOR POOL CLEANING PROFESSIONALS PoolScribe, a data entry and cost reporting app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod designed to help pool cleaning professionals has been launched by Tap Quillity Software Systems. It determines the per- customer profitability of pool cleaning businesses and is available from Apple. PoolScribe recording the costs associated with providing a pool-cleaning service, including: mileage, technician’s time, the amount of supplies dispensed at each customer’s pool.
For daily, weekly or monthly intervals, PoolScribe provides practical reports on these and other aspects of performing the service, as well as an export facility permitting external data manipulation and backup.

HIPPO BRINGS 2012 ZING TO DALTON WITH NEW ‘SPLASH ZONE’
2012 started with a bang for one of the UK’s highest profile leisure centres – thanks to water games specialists Hippo Leisure.
Dalton Leisure Centre in Barrow in Furness transformed its old sauna area with a new water play area using Hippo’s striking play equipment. Bernard McPeake, Manager at Dalton Leisure Centre, was looking for ways to liven up their redundant area to provide an attractive, family friendly experience. Hippo undertook the project due to offering the best play value and providing the most interaction says Bernard. A ‘Splash Zone’ was installed and opened in the New Year to an enthusiastic audience. The new area features Hippo’s four arm mast feature, a 4m snake squirt, interactive play panels and newly launched Squirtums.
Hippo’s design created an instant visual impact. The products provide inclusive play for children of all ages and abilities. The older children will love the high level anticipatory water play provided by the tipping buckets and the mast’s spray rail feature. The play panels and 4 metre snake squirt will provide stimulating and challenging play scenarios for toddlers.
Bernard hopes the new area will attract families from outside the area as well as increase usage by locals who are eager to use the spectacular facilities.
Hippo will be bringing their innovative touch to more leisure centres in 2012. A new range of interactive splash toys will enable centres to create a toddler ‘splash zone’ which will be cost effective and simple to install. A mix and match selection of toys available for building ‘splash zones’ will include play panels, Squirtums, toddler slides and platforms.
“It was a fantastic year for Hippo Leisure,” said a company
spokesman. “We have been able to bring back the zing to many leisure centres looking to provide a fun and interactive water play environment and increase revenue.”

NIRVANA HEAT PUMPS APPOINT NEW UK DISTRIBUTOR
Canadian heat pump manufacturer Nirvana has appointed Total Water Products Ltd as its new UK distributor.
Nirvana heat pumps are made in Canada and are designed to withstand harsh Canadian winters
and give excellent performance at the lower temperatures typical in a British summer.
Michel Lesage, President of Nirvana Heat Pumps said: “I was impressed by the management team at Total Water Products and I am confident that they will be able to back our high quality product up with high quality support.” Nirvana will showcase their heat pumps at SPATEX.
Paul Grunhut, Sales Director of Total Water Products Ltd said: “We are very pleased to have been appointed the UK distributor for Nirvana. When I saw the build quality and performance figures of the Nirvana range of heat pumps I knew they would be perfect for the UK market. I am confident that
when the pool trade see this heat pump at SPATEX we will have a lot of interest.”
Total Water Products Ltd is based in South Wales. They are also the UK and EU manufacturer and distributor for the Lo-Chlor range of speciality pool and spa chemicals.
Four models will be available in the UK with outputs from 21kW up to 34kW on single phase.
Nirvana Heat Pumps are based in Quebec, Canada and have been growing sales of their heat pumps since the new management took over the company five years ago.
