GLOW STICK GRAFFITI

Following a talk by renowned light grafitti artist Michael Bosanko (an example of his work is pictured left) at the IALD Enlighten Europe Conference on day one of The ARC Show, come and have a look at the exciting and whimsical light graffiti created by students at the UCL Bartlett and Rose Bruford college. Working in small teams, these emerging designers will create a series of temporary light artworks for you to enjoy and judge. Working on the theme of theatre and spectacle, the dozen or so light graffiti instal- lations will be judged with the lucky team receiving a kindle for their efforts.

The IALD supports this activity as a display of creativity and illustrating how seemingly dull and unimportant spaces can be transformed from ugly ducklings to swans, even if it is only for a couple of hours. www.thearcshow.com/registernow

DESIGN PRIMA CO-LOCATED WITH THE ARC SHOW

The ARC Show 2012 is co-locating with Design PRIMA, an exhibition for the commercial interior and architectural market. Combined with The ARC Show, this event will ensure that the range of project needs are met now more than ever. Design PRIMA is the only convincing choice for radical, inspirational commercial interior and architectural products, featuring the leading UK and international manufacturers. The product categories include furniture, flooring, lighting, textiles, surface materials, architectural fit- tings and finishes, interior planting and accessories. The exhibition will offer professionals who use design and specify such products, the opportunity to see and dissect the recent product launches, whilst at the same time developing business relationships with the people who make and market them. Design PRIMA is put together in intimate spaces and offers generous hospitality - visitors feel welcome and valued. Its exhibitors know it to be first for industry networking, first for quality, and the place to establish, build and maintain a corporate reputation. www.designprima.com

The judges will initially produce a strong shortlist of finalists who will then be given an exclusive opportunity to showcase their product within the ARC Innovation Centre. The shortlisted products will be displayed in what promises to be a beautifully built dedicated area at the heart of the event. This prime location within The ARC Show should ensure that the thousands of buyers expected to visit the show see the products. Finalists will have the opportunity to not only receive a presence at the show, but within a number of leading industry titles, including a special feature in mondo*arc magazine.

There will be three awards for the most

innovative product from the final 20 com- panies. The panel of judges will vote for one award and visitors to the ARC Show will vote for the other award. The third will be voted for by the readers of Lightsource. The winners will be presented with their award at the show.
