The Ken Turner Band Swings into Town

O

n the 24th. July

Jim Haines accompanied by his wife Pat and Ann Evans met up with President George at the Conservative Club in Hornchurch to attend the weekly Jazz Club held in the back hall. The normal band is Rex O'Dell and his Friends but on this occasion we were entertained by The Ken Turner Big Band . This 16 piece band has performing in the area for a good many years and has a first class reputation.

time before and was a little disap- pointed that more of our members did

not take the opportunity to hear this great band. There were however a large group from the Havering East Club as Jim had told them about the evening at an Inter Club Group meeting.

of big band classics, did not disappoint and a good time was had by all. There is just something about 'live music' and the excitement that it
