Rotary Jazz Night 16th April 2011

F Well Done Jim!

rom the time the date was fixed for

the Jazz Night it was difficult to avoid being accosted by our zealous Treasurer, who took every opportunity to remind all and sundry that the event of the year (No, not The Wedding!) was being held on the 16th. April. AND IT PAID OFF.!

W

e had a fantastic night, with

everything going to plan. There was a record turnout for a Jazz Night, the band (Rex O‟Dell and the Nicest People) was in excellent form, the food (slightly delayed) was very tasty, and the atmosphere in the hall was excellent with people up dancing virtually all night.

I

t is always a pleasure to receive

and hear complimentary comments, and this happened in abundance. The enthusiasm from visitors and friends from other clubs was very positive, and I was asked by several groups to make sure they were on the guest list the next time we hold the event. I thor- oughly enjoyed the evening and so did all the guests.

S

o well done Jim for galvanising

your team (tea girls, raffle ticket sellers, furniture movers etc.), and for providing us with all that we wanted for a good night out. To top it all we

made a healthy profit, the bulk of which will go to the Cranham Community Association with the balance going into our un-Restricted Charity account.
