21 V festival tents "The sheer waste!" I

must just relate one of several amusing

incidents. Just as Jim ,Geoff and I was finishing our well earned cups of coffee, Brian arrived to get some more green bags. He had left John to guard the last tent they had dismantled (there being some other groups of people doing the same as us. I volunteered to go back with the bags so Brian could have a drink and the intention was to return with both said tent and John so he could have a break. As I neared John I had to call out because he was getting further and further away in his quest to find aban- doned mattresses (he just loved taking the plugs out and laying on them to expel the air!).I explained the plan to John ( Pack tent, carry back, have coffee-Simples) but John had lost his bearing in his quest for crea- ture comforts and we could not find that blasted tent which he and Brian had so lov- ingly dismantled and folded. As I laughed my way back to the others I left John doggedly determined to find it. Brian took off to help 'Confused of Emerson Park' and we decided to call it a day and go home.
