money to the Art department, helped the Geography department to fund their fi eld trips, funded the Year 11s Leaver’s Book and paid for coach trips. With enough funds raised we hope to be able to give up to £500 per department. Our grand total raised so far this year is just under £10,000.

Our Car Boot Sales raise a lot of money and are held on the third Sunday of the month. Our last one for this academic year is on Sunday 18th July and out fi rst one after the Summer holidays will be on Sunday 19th September.


FOGMS now have a permanent webpage on the JustGiving website www.justgiving.com/ greatmarlowschool/donate This webpage has been set up to enable parents, carers and friends of the school to donate if they so wish, a regular amount each month or


riends of Great Marlow – FOGMS – have had a busy time this year. We have given


one single donation to Friends of Great Marlow School to allow them to continue to raise money and support the school.


Also through Just Giving £4629.30 has been raised: one parent ran the London Marathon in April raising over £2500 and our 50+ strong team of runners ran the Marlow 5 in May all of whom ran to raise funds for the school. We thank them all very much.


We are holding a Quiz Night on Friday 24th September which will be our fi rst event of the next academic year. More details to follow on Parentmail.

A MESSAGE FROM MRS WILSON


I cannot stress enough how important the work and monies raised by Friends of Great Marlow School is. The funds raised enhance the education of every child within the school by providing equipment and resources that are not paid for out of the school budget.


The FOGMS Committee raised funds this year by holding regular social events within the academic year – which have included a


Christmas Shopping Evening, a Caribbean Night and the regular Car Boot Sales.


This year FOGMS have helped a range of school departments buy extra resources needed to enhance the curriculum. They have also been raising money to buy a new school minibus and next year are planning to help fund the refurbishment of the Learning Resource Centre, update the staging in the Hall and an outside seating area to provide shade for the students at lunchtime.
