D & T Textiles CASCOUTURE FASHION SHOW 2010 T


his year the Cascouture fashion show was held on the 29th of April, 2010. As usual our year 10 Textiles students continue to astonish the


audience with their creativity. The bags and fascinators that were exhibited were inventive with Jessica Clarke winning the fi rst prize of the sewing machine for the best Bag and Haseena Khaliq winning the one for the fascinators. This year we launched the A’ Level Product Design: Textiles. The Year 12 Textiles students Fashion products were also modelled on the catwalk by our superb models who are volunteers from year 8 and 9. The work that was on show by the Year 12s was their AS unit 2 project, which is a portfolio project working on surface decoration, garment construction and millinery. They made 3 items each which were: a skirt, waistcoat and hat. The evening was full of fun activities including a splendid performance by the GMS Dance club. The DT department will like to take this opportunity to once again thank our parents and the FOGMS for all the support they give in making this occasion a successful evening.
