GMS Sports Leadership Teamm

Schools District Team at the Bucks County Champs. Unfortunately due to it clashing with Marlow Regatta many of these superb athletes could not attend, however it is testament to the depth of our student’s talents.

Every Tuesday this term we have competed in the Borlase Athletics league. For 3 consecutive weeks each year group; 7, 8 and 9+10 combined do battle against all of the invited schools in the district to be crowned the athletic league champions. In the year 9/10 event we came third by the matter of a few points behind 2 of the local grammar schools. The Year 8 league which is currently running should be much closer and year 7 is still to come. Each week Mr Goodright regularly takes over 25 students to Borlase to compete, on the majority of the evenings we have taken a bigger squad than any other competing school.

At the same time, Athletics club is taking place for the rest of the school at GMS. Tuesday and Wednesday after school regularly sees over 20 students turn up in order to improve their throwing, jumping and running. This is where the hard work has been done, which has seen so many school records broken.
