A DAY IN THE LIFE OF...

KIERON LAMBERT,

RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT/ SPECIALIST, AP EXECUTIVE

One thing about being a recruiter, I don’t think that I have encountered two days the same, and in all honesty I doubt that I ever will!

However, I always have a good breakfast, because you never know when you will get lunch!

Having been a candidate myself, I am acutely aware of the requirements for out of office hours’ registrations. So my standard hours are at the bare minimum 8.30 a.m. until 5.30 p.m. but I always make myself available for a candidate at a time that suits them; this small sacrifice might be the difference between registering that fantastic client for your highest salary job or not, so ultimately it is in the consultant’s best interests to go that extra bit further.

It is more reassuring to hear positive news after such bleak times in the finance sector, which bodes well for my short term future.

Having discovered the roles, you then need candidates. Social media is a great tool, but working for a long established and reputable company like AP Executive means the database of candidates is very international and diverse. Jobseekers make our business succeed, so it’s important that we give them a feeling of value and importance. Of course, being knowledgeable about
