successful, cutting food preparation time by 50 per cent and increasing drink service to four times as fast, the integrated galley never 2ok off. Another element of the SPICE galley which never took to the skies in force was the induction oven. Essentially, the brilliantly-designed oven failed to find traction in the market since it also changed the catering logistics process used by all the catering companies to cater the aircraft. Wholly new ovens and support logistics hardware was required to launch induction. It also produced food in a serial manner, one item after another and the service process took too long to support larger aircraft. This might now all change


following the recent launch of a new Galley Inserts Design Line by Italian manufacturing specialist, Iacobucci Group. Among the features of this new design is the induction oven. If this takes off it will be the only induction oven available in the aviation industry as well as the only product developed to cook fresh foods on board.
