Emirates gives customers Google Now


Emirates now offers its customers who book online Google Now cards. The app Google Now is integrated for Android™ and iOS (iPhones and iPads) and will mean Emirates can deliver information to users, such as flight times and departure terminals, as well as relevant information about their destination, like weather, currency, local landmarks, accommodation and attractions.

British Airways conducted a survey analysing its customers’ food and drink habits and found home favourites were top requests. Despite investment in expensive luxury chocolates, Business customers have called for Cadburys so the airline now offers a range of its brands in its ‘Club Kitchen,’ which offers a permanently accessible stock of healthy and indulgent foods.


Replacing shepherd’s pie as the favourite dish was the Indian-inspired dish ‘butter chicken’, a rich, protein-packed hot dish designed to help create a feeling of comfort and induce sleep.

Requests for peppermint tea and sparkling water have also soared. However, the airline is also stocking up on more sparkling wine and Champagne than ever. ONBOARD CATERING Delta’s Cook Off!


Delta Air Lines and US magazine Food & Wine have partnered up to create a new culinary competition to find a new chef. The Cabin Pressure Cook Off will launch in October and consist of a series of videoed competitions in which four former Food & Wine Best New Chef winners will compete. The final winner will consult Delta on menus for flights departing Atlanta. The series will be aired on delta.com and foodandwine.com. The chefs competing are: Hugh Acheson of Empire State South, Atlanta and Five & Ten and The National, Athens, Georgia; Linton Hopkins of Restaurant Eugene and Holeman & Finch Public House in Atlanta; Kelly English of Restaurant Iris, The Second Line in Memphis, Kelly English Steakhouse in St. Louis and George Mendes of ALDEA, New York. The new chef will join Delta’s culinary team including Michelle Bernstein, Michael Chiarello, and master sommelier Andrea Robinson. delta.com
