Majestic California: The Pacific, Redwoods & Yosemite
A delight for all ages! Experience the thrill of driving uphill in gravity-defying San Francisco, the view from the Golden Gate Bridge, the stars above on a forest night-hike, the roar of a Yosemite waterfall, the girth of a giant sequoia, life in a tiny tide pool, the bark of a sea lion, the acrobatics of a troupe of sea otters, and bicycling or kayaking along the Pacific Ocean.

2. SAN FRANCISCO BY WATER & LAND A private catamaran cruise on San Francisco Bay starts the day with spectacular views of the city and its surrounds. Back on land you’ll head to the California Academy of Sciences for a self-guided tour, followed by a drive that introduces the city’s diverse and charming neighborhoods along with a must-do walk on the Golden Gate Bridge. BOUND FOR YOSEMITE & FOREST FUN You’ll head east today to a land of stunning mountains and the oldest trees on Earth, stopping en route to see one of the nation’s largest wind farms and for lunch in Jamestown, a boomtown during the 1848 Gold Rush. Your resort lies at Yosemite’s South Gate, where a choice of dining venue and a forest hike by flashlight kick off your three-night stay. Meals BLD

4. GIANT TREES & A MOONLIT TRAIN RIDE Think big, really big. On a tram ride through the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, you’ll see trees that are the largest living things known to humans with names like the Grizzly Giant and the California Tunnel Tree. Back at the lodge, you can try out the lodge’s rock-climbing* wall. Evening brings a gold panning experience, a grilled western dinner, and toe-tappin’ music. A steam train ride through the woods to a sing-along campfire follows; return by the light of the moon. Meals BLD
