5. EUROSTAR TO PARIS Travel aboard the high-speed Eurostar train from London to Paris; your crossing under the English Channel will take about two hours and fifteen minutes – the fastest time ever. Paris sightseeing begins on arrival to give you an overview of the “City of Light,” with a stop to check out the views from the first-level platform of the city’s signature Eiffel Tower. Enjoy dinner tonight at a restaurant within walking distance of your hotel, ideally located just steps from the Tuileries Garden, Place Vendôme, Place de la Concorde and the Louvre. Meals BD

VERSAILLES AND ARTSY MONTMARTRE About an hour outside of Paris stands the Château de Versailles, one of the most extravagant palaces in Europe and home to the French kings from the time of Louis XIV to Louis XVI (and his wife, Marie-Antoinette). During a guided tour, you’ll discover the dazzling Hall of Mirrors, the grand apartments of the king and queen, the fanciful formal gardens, and hear stories about life in the palace.
