5. EUROSTAR TO PARIS Travel aboard the high-speed Eurostar train from London to Paris; your crossing under the English Channel will take about two hours and fifteen minutes – the fastest time ever. Paris sightseeing begins on arrival to give you an overview of the “City of Light,” with a stop to check out the views from the first-level platform of the city’s signature Eiffel Tower. VERSAILLES AND ARTSY MONTMARTRE About an hour outside of Paris stands the Château de Versailles, one of the most extravagant palaces in Europe and home to the French kings from the time of Louis XIV to Louis XVI (and his wife, Marie-Antoinette).
