local park residents include tapir, ocelots, jaguars, river otters, grisons, frogs and bulldog bats that feed on fish. You’ll also find coconut trees, orchids, heliconias and other flora that add tropical colors everywhere you look. Back on land, we’ll head into the village of Tortuguero for a visit to the Caribbean Conservation Corporation, dedicated to studying and saving sea turtles since 1959. If you travel with us in the summer months of July and August, you will be able to make a special trip to the beach at night for a chance to see the endangered green sea turtles making their way out of the sea to lay their eggs on the black sand beach. Dinner is at the lodge tonight. Meals BLD
