4. YELLOWSTONE WILDERNESS & A PICNIC Wake up to a world of amazing natural wonders in Yellowstone National Park and spend the day on an excursion led by an expert from The Institute of the Yellowstone Association; you’ll learn about the park’s history and wildlife and enjoy a picnic lunch in beautiful surroundings. Five threatened species, the gray wolf, whooping crane, lynx, bald eagle and grizzly bear, are protected by the park; it’s also home to 60+ different mammals; the largest concentration of wildlife in the lower 48 states; 10,000 hot springs; and two-thirds of all geysers in the world. After a day that is truly a celebration of the West’s natural beauty, enjoy dinner at leisure back at the lodge. Meals BLD
5. BUFFALO BILL & CODY RODEO THRILLS More of Yellowstone’s glory sets the stage this morning on your drive to historic Cody, the “rodeo capital of the world,” where western hospitality and friendliness are staples. The town was founded in 1896 by “Buffalo Bill” Cody, a frontiersman and folk hero who spread his love for the spirit and wilderness of the West through his traveling Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show. At the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, you’ll learn the colorful story of its namesake and discover the area’s rich history and artistic heritage. Dinner comes western-style, a preview to the fun and excitement that awaits at the Cody Nite Rodeo with bronc riding, bull riding, team roping and barrel racing. Meals BD
