•Don’t let pain ruin your life, come in and speak to the experts.

open water clubs and informal swim groups take to the water regularly often all year round. Membership of the Jersey Polar Bears and the honour of acquiring the club hat means undertaking a sea swim in less then 10 degrees from Havre des Pas to the Dicq and back; that’s 15 minutes of pure agony if your not used to such cold conditions.

The Bears are not the only hardy souls who can be seen frequenting the sea all year round. St Catherine’s and St Brelade’s are also popular haunts

especially for one group of ladies

known as SINK (Senile

Antiquities Nautical Klub) or because

there is only five of them sometimes known as cinq! The son of one of the lady members cruelly suggested that perhaps they were so named because they were not very good swimmers!

Happy swimming!
