eally does feel like a landmark year in the history of Bagot Road Garage

by Craig Seager Managing Director, Falles Motor Group

BUILDING- on firm foundations

For local company Bagot Road Garage, it’s a landmark year – in more ways than one. Looking back, 2013 marks the 40th anniversary of taking on the Renault dealership, and therefore forty years of serving local customers with this enduringly popular make of car. Looking forward, 2013 marks the first year of trading from brand new showrooms, which are perfectly designed to display not only the new Renault range but also introduce two exciting new manufacturers.

Bagot Road Garage, which is owned by Falles Motor Group, has been an important part of the local motoring scene since the early 1970s. During that time, Renault cars have been synonymous with quality and endurance, as well as adding a little Gallic flair to a market dominated by American, Japanese and German manufacturers. Contributing to the proposition has been the team at Bagot, which won an international award for customer service excellence in 2012.

‘We have always focused on keeping customers happy,’ explained Bagot’s MD Craig Seager, ‘in a small and highly competitive market like Jersey, there just is no room for complacency. So while it’s great to have forty years of experience, you also have to meet the expectations of today’s customers. It’s one of the reasons for redeveloping our showrooms and for expanding our range.’

The Renault showroom at Bagot Road underwent a complete transformation at the end of 2012, creating a more spacious and modern environment. It’s a

perfect setting for the award-winning range of Renault electric vehicles and firm favourites including a new version of the Renault Clio. Additional space has also been developed for two new makes of car, Dacia and Great Wall.

‘While Renault remains at the heart of our business,’ Craig elaborated, ‘we have watched the emergence of new manufacturers from Eastern Europe and Asia with interest. Some of them are managing to produce great cars at impressively low prices, and so we decided that 2013 would be the year to drive quality choice into the local market at value for money prices.’

With that in mind, the Dacia Duster compact sports utility vehicle, built by Renault-owned Dacia Motors, comes with an amazing price tag of just over £8,000. It’s an opportunity recognised recently by the award "Bargain of the Year 2012" by the Top Gear magazine.

The other new arrival at Falles Bagot Road has attracted similar accolades from the motoring press.

features and price, coming in at less than £15,000 on the road.

‘With all these things happening, it really does feel like a landmark year in the history of Bagot Road Garage,’ concludes Craig, ‘and we are certainly looking forward to a great future built on the firm foundations of the past.’
