Monday 10.09.2012 Audio focus for Monitor IQ

Digital Nirvana By Monica Heck

Digital Nirvana is demonstrating the latest version of its broadcast monitoring software, Monitor IQ. Monitor IQ is a monitoring, logging, compliance and content republishing system for TV networks and stations. It combines the functionalities of content recording (HD and SD in full resolution), content searching, retrieve and repurposing, web publishing, signal monitoring, air-check logging, archiving, ad

verification and tracking as well as competitive analysis in a scalable networked appliance. The company says that Monitor IQ is the only broadcast

monitoring system that provides centralised management, automatic ad detection, a director’s audio track as well as an advanced metadata harvester. On the stand, the

demonstration of Monitor IQ focuses on the product’s loudness monitoring and audio logging capability in particular, including OEM software licensed from Minnetonka Audio Software.

Minnetonka Audio’s

AudioTools Loudness Measurement module allows Monitor IQ users to measure audio levels, perform quality control monitoring, record and log broadcast signals. Monitor IQ incorporates Minnetonka Audio’s proprietary software within a broader

Extra protection for antenna tracking

SatService By Ian McMurray

Among the many products on show on SatService’s IBC stand is the sat-nms ACU- RMU antenna tracking system for satellite ground station antennae. SatService has been delivering and

integrating antenna tracking systems that are integrated directly at the antenna since 2004 with its sat-nms ACU- ODU outdoor tracking cabinet. Based on feedback and demand from customers, says SatService, it can now offer an addition solution. The sat-nms ACU-RMU is based on the sat-nms ACU- ODM core module. It is, as with the other model, completely integrated, with the frequency inverters inside – allowing the same

functionality to be delivered in a 19-in 6RU equipment drawer which can be integrated in an equipment room or in an antenna shelter. This, says SatService, is especially advantageous in harsh environmental conditions as all the electronics are protected by the equipment room. As always within the sat-nms product family, the unit provides an integrated web server and an SNMP MIB, meaning that only an Ethernet interface is necessary to operate, monitor and control the antenna control system. For step-track purposes, it is possible to add the sat-nms LBRX beacon receiver which also provides beacon level information via Ethernet UDP frames. 1.F4

feature set for loudness monitoring and logging of virtually all audio standards. Loudness monitoring is bundled as a standard feature within Monitor IQ essentials, plus and premium versions.

The platform is based on open web services (REST) API’s so can be easily integrated with third party products and can scale from one to multiple servers and from one to hundreds of channels. All Digital Nirvana solutions

are web enabled, so users can access the software through any standard web browser without ActiveX component. Another new feature within the Monitor IQ Premier package is the Advanced Metadata Harvester functionality which

The iPad interface of Digital Nirvana’s Monitor IQ Plus

provides the ability to track any data the system logs and collects from alarms or from the broadcast feed.

The system is showing alongside two products making

their European debut, MediaPro IQ for repurposing content for multi-platform distribution and ManyView IQ, an enterprise- wide system for video distribution over IP. 10.A12

Virtual Linked Intercom

VLink is designed for use with mobile devices

based intercom providing limited interconnect

RTS Intercom Systems By Monica Heck

RTS is exhibiting its VLink Mobile (Virtual Linked Intercom) system, a fully interconnected DHCP-compliant virtual communications solution for RTS intercom systems. Compatible with PC or Mac and optimised for use with mobile devices, RTS VLink

allows remote users to interface with RTS matrix intercoms over the internet using a simple application. This offers more control and flexibility from anywhere in the world and VLink supports SIP to provide enhanced connectivity. Two RTS VLink systems are available. The basic RTS VLink-LE system comprises a standalone software/server-

functionality into any existing audio feed. The premium RTS VLink system provides intelligent trunking links into an RTS intercom matrix to provide full support for RTS intercom alphas and matrix access for standard communications workflows. VLink is fully compliant with the EBU Tech 3347 Standard specifying the transport protocols, coding algorithms, encapsulation, and signalling required to ensure interoperability in audio-over- IP production intercoms. Key features include access

from anywhere at any time, so users can access their RTS matrix using VLink with their iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. The system also offers flexible configuration and can scale to any number of ports (in eight- port blocks), so users need purchase only the capacity they need. 10.D25
