theibcdaily Versatile lightweight jib launch

Cartoni By David Fox

The new portable three-section Cartoni Jibo is a versatile, cost- effective lightweight jib that can carry up to 15kg and fits into a

practical lightweight wheeled case. Its three easily assembled sections provide operational flexibility and can be put together or taken apart in under three minutes. It has a horizontal lock for safer set-up. The jib weighs 12kg, folds

down to one metre in length, and allows shooting from ground level to 2m in height. The rear part of the arm, which holds the

counterweights, is extendible for accurate camera balance, while the front telescopic arm permits

the Jibo to work in a wide variety of shooting positions or requirements – under-slung, sideways, etc.

It can be used with any 100mm bowl base tripod and for heavier set-ups a Mitchell base adapter is available.

New LED Fresnel

Zylight By David Fox

The new F8 LED Fresnel from Zylight is claimed to be the next generation of Fresnel light, with a thin, lightweight design, water- resistant IP54 rating, and rugged construction. Like a traditional Fresnel light, it also offers: single shadow beam shaping through barn doors; continuous focusing; and a smooth light field. It is available in 3200K or 5600K colour temperature versions, offers completely silent operation, and can be powered by either a worldwide AC power adapter or standard 14.4v camera battery. In the studio, it can be

controlled via DMX or remotely via the built-in ZyLink wireless link. Local control such as dimming, focus and wireless operation are provided on the rear of the F8.

It has an adjustable beam

spread between 16-70º, uses a high quality glass 8-inch Fresnel lens and has an equivalent output of a traditional 650Watt fixture. 11.D78
