The latest enhancement to the DVStor2 Transport Stream Recording, Playout, Compliance Recording and Disaster Recovery product line from Pixelmetrix is the DVStor2 Timeline Content Browser. This new software upgrade represents, according to the company, a significant improvement for workflow and usability, providing a ‘groundbreaking’ change in the way video is viewed, searched and extracted – enabling operators to quickly get on with their job without struggling with obscure user interfaces. Another addition to the
software upgrade is the DVStor2 MultiFlow, which is said to dramatically increase the utility of the DVStor2 platform by enabling
simultaneous and independent recording and playback of multiple content streams. 1.F34
Monday 10.09.2012 55 New teleport launched SIS Live By Ian McMurray
A new teleport facility at MediaCityUK in Salford, UK, has been launched by satellite uplink and outside broadcast specialist, SIS Live. It is said to be the largest broadcast teleport ever built in the north of the UK. The facility includes nine satellite dishes – two 3.8m, two 4.8m, two 6.3m, two 8.1m and one 9m – plus a handful of smaller dishes. The new teleport is located on Trafford Wharfside, close to the new Coronation Street facility.
Making use of optimised viewing angles of at least 45°East to 45°West, and via careful placement and separation, the dishes are able to see most satellites in use in the UK.
“The new teleport enables us to offer existing and new customers enhanced services, as well as providing MediaCityUK with direct access to the global satellite market,” said David Meynell, managing director, SIS Live. “MediaCityUK will be at the centre of UK broadcasting for many years to come, and the location of our teleport also gives us an enormous visual
