MADE IN ITALY
The Italian speciality fastener company
Unifast Srl was founded in 1985 and is based in Settimo Torinese near Turin in Italy, as well as having a logistics and engineering subsidiary in the UK. The company is committed to providing the most efficient and cost effective technical fasteners to engineers seeking mechanical assembly solutions across a broad spectrum of industries.
built a modern manufacturing facility that provides the capability to produce and supply consistently high quality fasteners and custom engineering components. A strong point of the company is the use of an automatic
U
warehouse system known as ‘Silo’ with shifting trays for the storage of a huge variety of small to medium size items. Unlike more traditional automatic vertical storage systems, the Silos offer perfect adaptability to the needs of a warehouse and are effective at reducing picking times; one of the main reasons Unifast decided to install eight of them. Over the past 25 years Unifast is sure it has built a reputation
for expertise and reliability that has instilled a sense of confidence in customers. Part of the company’s success is in re-engineering existing or obsolete parts to simplify processes, improve functionality and reduce both production times and costs. The products manufactured by Unifast are monitored by an
SPC system (System Control Process) and guaranteed by its quality department, supported with optical sorting machines. Unifast manufactures quick acting fasteners and captive nuts in
addition to a wide range of special products. Quick acting fasteners are widely used where rapid assembly and disassembly of units is vital or where service access is required, such as electrical cabinet, air conditioning units, compressors and inspection panels on engine covers. The automotive industry is a major user of this product. Unifast designed FAST turn quick acting fasteners to be rapid and economic to use whilst maintaining reliability. Another Unifast product is the KAPti-nut, which is a high
strength, captive threaded fastening system for sheet metal ideally suited to multiple and automated insertion into thin gauge steel, aluminium and pre-finished materials. Unifast is confident the KAPti-nut will deliver a significantly better result, in terms of cost effectiveness, performance, and now, increasingly important, reduced environmental impact over traditional weld nut or blind rivet nuts. In addition to its standard lines of products, Unifast uses
specialised design skills, market knowledge and leading edge technology to develop and manufacture fasteners for individual applications. Unifast knows the challenges it faces and its innovative team helps to solve those challenges providing the right information, getting the right product and achieving significant savings. All Unifast products are manufactured in accordance with ISO/TS 16949:2009 and Unifast is certified to UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008.

A small example of Italian excellence
L.L.S. LAVORAZIONE LEGHE SPECIALI was founded in 1990 as a manufacturer of metal components in titanium and light alloys (especially Al7075) specifically for the motorcycle industry. It almost immediately achieved a top place in the processing of these materials, becoming an important point of reference at the European level.
markets. Currently L.L.S. exports 50% of its production. The constant supply of technological innovations and
I
the major investments in its production capabilities have allowed L.L.S. to increase production and to be recognised internationally as a reference in the processing of special alloys. The special alloys, offering special mechanical and
structural high corrosion resistance, durability, and weight saving, find applications in many different fields, from automotive to marine, petrochemical industries to robotics, racing to the military and nuclear power. In 2002 LLS Racing was introduced as a new brand, dedicated
entirely to the aftermarket components for motorcycling. In 2005 L.L.S. created another new brand dedicated to the cycle industry. The division Carbon Ti, already well known, especially abroad, is focused primarily on high-end cycle products, for enthusiasts and professional athletes. The know-how and technological experience gained in
these 20 years of activity allowed L.L.S. to approach the aircraft industry, a sector that requires highly strategic skills, certifications and special tools for quality control. The company has recently been certified EN ISO 9100 and is now ready to face a new challenge, having already achieved the necessary requirements for entry into the aerospace market.
n a short time, fasteners produced in pure titanium and its alloys, and also on high strength 7075 aluminium alloy have seen growing demand in a wide spectrum of different industrial sectors, both in Italy and international
