SORMAT OST releases a unique fired pin
SORMAT OST (St. Petersburg) has released an innovative product, the PDGN fired pin, comprising a nylon nail with fibreglass filler.
I
t is a joint development of SORMAT OST and BASF Germany, which has no analogues in Russia and Europe. In comparison to similar metal goods the new product has several advantages. The main advantage is the reduced weight at a fifth of a conventional steel pin, a lower price and no corrosion. Its load bearing characteristics meet all the necessary regulatory requirements. SORMAT OST’s plant has produced high quality plastic fasteners for more than 10 years, a considerable proportion of which are exported to European countries.

cooperation with the ministries, state committees, corporations, and executive committees. About five hundred companies - members of the system of the Ministry of Industry were among the nominees of the
contest. There were only two winners: Rechitsa Metizny plant and JSC ‘Minsky automobile factory’ in the category ‘Mechanical Engineering and Metal Working.’ According to Mr Vashkov, the director of the plant, this victory is very important for the workers of the plant. In 2011 the export volume at the plant amounted to US$99.4 million (comparing to US$79.5 million 2010).
