an ideal platform for both local and international distributors and manufacturers to establish successful business relations, both with customers for fastener and fixing systems, and with local agents or partners across the Yangtze River Delta and elsewhere within China. Show manager, Dan Wu, expects to attract both trade visitors and end-users, keen to source existing products and also find new fastening and fixing solutions. Next to Shanghai, Suzhou is the second largest industrial

reach of Shanghai with access to both Shanghai Pudong and Shanghai Hongqiao international airports. The automotive, general engineering, IT, telecoms,
construction and consumer goods markets in China are well known to offer significant business growth opportunities. Whilst in recent months the global economic slowdown is showing an impact, explains Dan Wu, economists predict a controlled and minor slowdown, revising China’s overall full year growth figures down from 8.6% to 8% in 2012 followed by higher growth through 2013. Investment in manufacturing and engineering continues at a very high level, across all end-user sectors for fastener and fixing products. More information on Fastener Fair China is available at

EuroBLECH – “For a sustainable future” EuroBLECH is the world’s largest exhibition for the sheetmetal working industry. The event is renowned as the leading international trade exhibition and a trend barometer for this industry sector. With this year’s theme “For a sustainable future”, EuroBLECH puts a special focus on energy efficient technology, environmentally friendlymanufacturing processes and intelligent use ofmaterial.
This is an increase in floor space of more than 6% compared with the previous show. “This thoroughly positive outlook for this year’s EuroBLECH

reflects a further recovery of the sheet metal working industry; and it also shows that the industry sector is inspired by overall trends such as sustainability, awareness of resources, energy efficiency and mobility. Major developments in sheet metal working focus upon lightweight construction, intelligent use of material, processing of hybrid structures as well as new applications of established production processes,” says Nicola Hamann, exhibition director EuroBLECH, on behalf of the organisers, Mack Brooks Exhibitions. “Visitors to the exhibition can look forward to discovering a

large number of machine demonstrations throughout the eight exhibition halls, as live presentation of innovative machinery and systems is traditionally a major focus for participating companies at EuroBLECH,” adds Nicola Hamann. International attendance, a further characteristic of
EuroBLECH, is, once again, very high at this year’s exhibition. Almost 48% of the companies that have already booked their stands come from outside Germany, with Italy, Turkey, China, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Spain being the biggest exhibitor countries after Germany. EuroBLECH 2012 will occupy halls 11,12,13,14,15,16,17 and
27 at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds. The exhibition profile represents the entire sheet metal working technology chain: sheet metal, semi-finished and finished products, handling, separation, forming, flexible sheet metal working, joining, welding, surface treatment, processing of hybrid structures, tools, quality control, CAD/CAM systems and R&D.

aul Commented: “A visit to the Ricoh Arena and a tour around the Jaguar Hall, where the shows will take place, proved to all those who attended how easy the venue is to access and the quality of the facility.” He
continued: “The move also gives us the opportunity to stand the show on its head and give visitors a very different experience.” New initiatives so far will see the shows offering bona fide retailers
and resellers a free sit-down lunch as part of their visit and restricting exhibitors to a maximum stand size of 50m² in order to limit their cost of exhibiting and encourage more suppliers to take part. The show already has the support of key industry wholesalers

The 2013 Totally Shows will be open for three days from Sunday 10th to Tuesday 12th
February. Event director James Murray said: “We want to deliver a
national trade show the industry will benefit from and be proud of, and our move to the Ricoh Arena is great opportunity to update the type and tone of the show, so we are delighted with how the trade has responded to our new home in Coventry.”
