he enlarged, non-flush stud head distributes axial tightening force over a large area. The result is improved pull through performance, reduced compressive stress on the panel, and development of full thread strength. All four types of these RoHS compliant studs offer cost-effective alternatives to weld studs by enabling easier installation with
fewer production steps.
Type HFE™ steel studs install permanently in steel or aluminium sheets as thin as 0.040 inches/1mm with hardness of HRB 85 (or less) and HB 165 (or less). Thread sizes range from #10-32 through 5
/16 -18 and M5 through M8. Standard stud lengths are
available up to 2 inches/50mm. Type HFH™ steel studs for high-strength applications meet Grade 5/Property Class 9.8 tensile requirements and install
permanently in steel or aluminium sheets as thin as 0.050 inches/1.3mm with hardness of HRB 85 (or less) and HB 165 (or less). Thread sizes range from #10-32 through 3
/8 /16 -18 and -16 and M5 through M10. Standard stud lengths can be supplied up to 2 inches/50mm. Types HFG8™ (unified) and HF109™ (metric) high tensile strength studs provide solutions for the most demanding applications.
These carbon alloy steel studs are specially heat-treated to achieve greater hardness and tensile strength up to Grade 8/Property Class 10.9 meeting 150 ksi/1040 MPa minimum. They install permanently in steel or HSLA steel sheets as thin as 0.040 inches/1mm with hardness of HRB 89 (or less) and HB 180 (or less). Thread sizes for Type HFG8 studs range from #10-32 through 5

The secret’s out - Button-fix has arrived
Button-fix™ is a new, extra strong, secret fixing for panels. Having only just been launched Buttonfix Limited says that its Button-fix™ has already been well received by users, ranging from furniture manufacturers to shop-fitters to caravan makers, who have tested their free sample packs.

utton-fix is easy to align and fit with the Button part of the fixing safely locking home with a ‘click’. Its reversible design means that it can be surface-mounted or rebated for compactness and strength. It can also be orientated for vertical or sideways assembly with the Button attached to either the removable panel or the background structure. How it is used depends on the users particular application.
Buttonfix Limited points out that as Button-fix is moulded from a glass-filled, engineering-grade polymer it is extremely
strong. It has also been specifically designed, developed and manufactured in the UK and works with a wide variety of panel materials and thicknesses. “Button-fix has received independently commissioned load test results and is supported by a comprehensive website, giving details of how to use the product and useful tips and accessories to help with the installation.”
