Rodgersia (Rodger’s Flower) A spectacular perennial with bold, handsome foliage that resembles the leaves of a horse chestnut tree. Dramatic tall spikes of fluffy flower clusters are held high above the foliage. Plants prefer permanently moist soil, but won’t tolerate standing water.

Each leaf is crimped along the edges as if it were trimmed with a pinking shears. Dense, bottle- brush-like flower spikes on wiry stems have no petals, but instead are covered in soft, fuzzy- looking stamens of carmine-pink. Grow them in average garden soil and mulch to keep their roots cool and moist. In hot areas plant them in partial shade. BR
