new plants we’re offering this year. We have over 100 new perenni- als, 11 new hostas and 70 daylilies that are either new to the catalog or re-introduced after a few years absence. For a plant lover, it’s like a cat presented with a bowl of cream - you just can’t help yourself from sampling. Whether you have sun gardens, shade gardens, or a combination of both, you will find wonderful choices that are sure to enhance them.

in our growing fields, greenhouses and test areas, it’s no small task to coordinate it all. We are fortunate to have an amazingly knowledge- able and dedicated staff. We guarantee all products in this catalog to be true to name and in good condition when you receive them. If you have any doubts about quality when your order arrives, notify us immediately (within 10 days) and we’ll replace or refund the full purchase price and shipping, whichever you prefer. We reserve the right to request return of the merchandise to receive adjustments. If a plant fails during the growing season and we are notified within one year from date of shipment, we will replace it once or issue a credit toward future orders provided the plant has been planted according to the instructions provided and in growing zones recommended in our catalog. Sale items will only be issued a credit voucher for the purchase price.

For best results select plants best suited to the zone in which you live. Hardiness zones are based on the average minimum temperatures for each zone. Lower numbers indicate the most north- erly area where plants will survive the winter and higher numbers are the most southern area where they will perform consistently. Other plant growth factors may affect hardiness such as rainfall, wind, humidity, soil type, altitude, sunlight and cultural practices causing mini-climates within a zone.

PERENNIALS SHIPPED IN SPRING may be sent as dormant, top- size, bareroot plants (with no soil around the roots) or in pots. Sym- bols at the end of the plant descriptions denote pot size or if the plant is sent bareroot. Potted plants may show little or no green growth on arrival, but will quickly leaf out in warm temperatures.


We reserve the right to send an alternative size of the variety ordered if the designated size becomes unavailable. All of our plants have been carefully inspected and are guaranteed to flourish. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.


PERENNIALS SHIPPED IN SUMMER will all be sent as well-estab- lished potted plants.


GROWING INSTRUCTIONS – with every order we will include de- tailed growing instructions covering care of your plants from the time they arrive at your door.


SHIPPING INFORMATION


SPRING SEASON: We will make every attempt to ship to your area when weather conditions are right for planting. However, due to our Zone 4 location, we usually are unable to ship plants safely before March 15. We discontinue spring shipment around June 10.


SUMMER SEASON: We begin accepting orders for our late summer shipping season in mid-July. Our summer shipping schedule begins about August 15 and continues until early October. For current avail- ablility, call our toll-free phone number or check our website.


Books and non-perishable products will be shipped immediately. PACKING AND INSURED DELIVERY CHARGES


Includes packing, insurance and freight to your shipping address. We do not ship plants to Alaska, California, Hawaii or overseas.
