Lavandula (Lavender) Lavender is known for the wonderful fragrance of its fl owers and aromatic, gray-green, needle-like foliage. It’s ideal for lining borders and walkways with its bushy, neat, shrub-like form. Plant in well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil.

This hybrid of L. angustifolia x L. latifolia, botanically known as Lavandin, supplies ¾ of the French lavandin oil used in making perfumes and soaps. Large, fat, extremely fragrant 3 to 6 inch deep purple spikes wave above lance-shaped, aro- matic, blue-green foliage. Tends to be more rot resistant than regular lavenders. Excellent for drying. 3P

Leucanthemum (Shasta Daisy) A perennial garden wouldn’t be complete without Shasta Daisies. Give them rich, moist, well-drained soil and dead- head for continuous bloom. Divide every 2 to 3 years.
