Digitalis (Foxglove) These beloved biennials and perennials bear spikes of colorful, pendant, tubular flowers that often display brown-spotted throats. They perform best in rich, moist, well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. In cooler climates they will tolerate some sun. Biennial types should be cut back after flow- ering, leaving a few spikes to reseed for continuity.
