FLOWER SEEDS Jung’s Top Picks For Containers, Hanging Baskets, Beds and Borders
Starting fl owers from seed is a great winter hobby that pays dividends all summer. It’s fun and very rewarding to say you grew these beautiful fl ow- ers yourself, plus you’ll save money by reducing purchases of expensive potted plants. We help ensure your success by including detailed grow- ing instructions. Tiny fl ower seeds such as petunias and begonias are specially coated for easier handling, noted as ‘pelleted’ in our descrip- tions. We would suggest a modest investment in equipment such as grow-lights (page 34) and heat mats or heating cables (page 35) as they greatly enhance germination and growth. They can be reused year after year and will help make your entire growing process more convenient and enjoyable.
