Squash should be planted in the garden after danger of frost. For an earlier start, sow in peat pots 3 to 4 weeks before transplanting to the garden. Squash packets have a minimum of 30 seeds unless otherwise noted. Seed size varies from 150 to 450 seeds per ounce.
