TOMATOES

We test many tomato varieties each year in our trials and offer only those that have exceptional qualities. Days indicate average time from setting out plants to fi rst ripe fruits. Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before setting out. Tomato seed varies in size with an average of 9000 seeds per ounce.

BURPEE SUPERSTEAK LEGEND Legend

The determi- nate plants have the ability to set fruit early without pollination, an advantage when temperatures are cooler. First fruits are often nearly seedless. Bred by Dr. Jim Baggett at Oregon State Univer- sity. (A) Pkt. (30 seeds) $2.45; 2 pkts. $4.20; 5 pkts. $9.50; (F) 1
